South African : Owen Diaram – Sun 24th August + Wine tasting in collaboration with Berkmann Wines

£75.00

Chef Owen returns to Method after his sell-out supper back in April, local Masterchef 2023 quarter finalist, Owen Diaram is back cooking up his fusion of Indian and South African cuisine, for a relaxing bank holiday Sunday afternoon of feasting.

Starting with his handcrafted onion bhajis made with his award-winning hand curated bhaji spice mix, the afternoon leads us into a braai feast. A braai (pronounced “bry”) is a South African term for a barbecue or grill, but it’s more than just cooking meat over an open fire. It’s a social event, a cultural tradition, and a way of life that brings people together.

A Perfect Partnership: Celebrating South African Wines

We’re thrilled to announce in addition to Owen’s delicious food, a special wine tasting collaboration with a truly exceptional partner, Berkmann Wine Cellars. Now led by its second generation, this award-winning company champions wineries that align with our own values, those that are progressive and fiercely independent. Their diverse and dynamic portfolio boasts over 1,400 wines from 21 countries, featuring a remarkable collection of iconic producers and rising stars across the full spectrum of wine styles.

This partnership provides a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of South African wines. With a winemaking history spanning over 360 years, South Africa combines “New World ripeness with Old World finesse.” It’s a region that has rapidly evolved since sanctions were lifted post-apartheid, now producing wines that are both vibrant and elegant.

During the afternoon, you will be able to sample five amazing South African wines and discover the rich heritage and exciting future of this captivating wine region. What’s more, all the wines you taste will be available for purchase on the day to drink, and to buy and take your favourites home to enjoy.
