ABOUT METHOD

Our story

Here at Sykes House Farm, we have been servicing restaurants across the north of England since the 1970’s. Originally pig and cattle breeders, the farm began meat supply with one of the original Farm Shops in the area.  We now supply the finest Yorkshire meat to professional kitchens 6 days a week as well as to home cooks across the UK.

Born out of a desire to properly tell our story, Method has been created to help chefs and cooks of all levels better understand the journey our products take from field to fork.

A special place

A unique learning space set in the middle of our working farm, Method has been designed and built specifically to educate and inform our professional catering customers on all thing’s meat.

Our facilities include a bespoke, state-of-the-art development kitchen, a custom-built communal butchers block, an intimate chefs table and dining area, and plenty of spaces for meetings and training days.

UNIQUE MASTERCLASSES

Family focused

Sykes House Farm is a ‘proper’ family business and family is a real cornerstone of what we do. We will be offering a series of classes designed to help families cook and eat together.

School holiday cooking classes will also be available for parents with younger children and basic cooking classes for older children heading to university or leaving home.  These are just a couple of exciting things we will be launching over the coming months.

Designed and led by our Chef Greg, these classes will be an affordable and fun-focussed experience that will provide your family with that extra bit of know-how and competence to make them more passionate and enthusiastic cooks.

Team spirit

With over 70 staff at the farm, we understand the importance of strong leadership and respect for our team.

Method will provide a range of corporate team-building events and activities designed to engage and enthuse your team through the cooking and eating of great food. Recipe challenges, food quizzes, cook-along’s and demonstrations will all feature in our locally inspired away days.

The future in mind

Method at Sykes House Farm is a unique structure built with the future in mind. Constructed from refurbished shipping containers, it is a well-considered and future-proof space using sustainable and recycled materials throughout wherever possible.

It has an environmentally friendly living roof covered with carbon-eating sedums as well as a fresh herb wall populated with wonderful, edible pollinators. Low-energy LEDs, natural light panels in the ceiling and a gas-free electric cook line are just a few of the energy saving ideas we’ve incorporated.

We hope to spread the message of eating better meat and how important it is to choose local.
