Our special collaboration, Method x The Old Deanery, is delighted to showcase Adam’s signature tasting menu, highlighting the incredible produce from Sykes House Farm. Limited to just 16 guests each evening, this exclusive takeover provides a unique opportunity to experience an immersive and interactive connection with the chef, their culinary artistry, and their creative journey.

Chef Jackson brings a wealth of experience and accolades, including his time as head chef at The Black Swan at Oldstead, where he helped secure its first Michelin star in 2012. He later established his own restaurant, The Park in Marmadukes Townhouse hotel, earning three AA rosettes. The new Old Deanery’s commitment to excellence has quickly been recognised. In its first year (2024), it was awarded 3 AA Rosettes, and since early 2025, it has been MICHELIN recommended, solidifying its status as a top dining destination.

The Old Deanery is an independently owned restaurant with rooms; proud to be located in the heart of the city of Ripon, in the shadows of the stunning Ripon Cathedral.  This Jacobean mansion dates back to 1625 and was originally built as a home for the Dean of Ripon. In 2021 the venue was taken over by Rebecca and Chris Layton and in 2023, acclaimed chef Adam Jackson joined The Old Deanery team, transforming it into a premier fine dining restaurant with rooms.

This field-to-fork experience goes beyond just showcasing beautiful food; it’s also an opportunity to learn and engage. Halfway through the menu, we’ll pause to observe an up-close lamb saddle butchery demonstration at our bespoke maple block with one of our expert butchers. We’re also delighted to welcome local farmer Tom Kilby from Thorp Arch, who will share his passion and insights directly from the farm.

£150 per person, which includes a curated drinks pairing (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available) with your meal. Additional beverages can be purchased from our extensive list before and after dinner.

Due to the bespoke nature of the menu, dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated. Menu can be subject to slight changes.

A unique learning space set in the middle of our working farm, Method has been designed and built specifically to educate and inform our professional catering customers on all thing’s meat.

Method is also open to foodies and families for cookery and butchery masterclasses and exclusive events featuring some of Yorkshires top chefs.

We are located just outside Wetherby, you can find instructions on how to get here, and a map on this page.

Is there free parking?

Yes, we have a large carpark for our guests. Cars can be left overnight, but are done so at owners risk.

What if I have dietary requirements?
