With a remarkable career spanning 45 years in the Yorkshire dining scene across Harrogate, Wetherby, and Leeds, Tony is best known as the founder of the much-loved Chez la Vie.

Join us for a nostalgic, flavour-packed evening as Tony recreates the quintessential bistro experience with his signature style and decades of passion. This is a rare opportunity to taste the food from one of Yorkshire’s most enduring and popular culinary figures.

Tony’s journey began in 1982 with his first venture, Le Mange Tout in Harrogate. This was followed by the iconic Chez la Vie on Station Parade, a French bistro that served the town for over 25 years. His restaurants were modelled on classic Parisian bistros, bringing the charm and flavour of rustic French cooking to Yorkshire. Diners would flock for his expertly prepared classics like French Onion Soup and Boeuf Bourguignon.

Two years ago, Tony tried to put his feet up and was “put out to pasture”, but the call of the kitchen was too strong! Now, he’s returning for this amazing collaboration here at Method to share the French comfort food that made him a local legend.

A unique learning space set in the middle of our working farm, Method has been designed and built specifically to educate and inform our professional catering customers on all thing’s meat.

Method is also open to foodies and families for cookery and butchery masterclasses and exclusive events featuring some of Yorkshires top chefs.

Is there free parking?

Yes, we have a large carpark for our guests. Cars can be left overnight, but are done so at owners risk.
